I love Istanbul

it is the second time I go to Turkey this year and I really love it so much! I returned recently from Istanbul and I enrolled in a cooking class !!. The Turkish cuisine is very good, tasty and refined; I used bulgur to prepare small balls and then …eggplant, peppers, stuffed pastries and lots, lots, lots of garlic! a great experience! I was even more enchanted by dervishes, an intimate and mystical cerimony

I love the sea !!

In July, for the first time I’ve spent a week in the boat, it has been a gift for my birthday: a trip on a “caicco” along the Turkish coast ….

how wonderful!

the total contact with nature and the sea, I loved it, and then… many turtels swimming in the bays, starry skies with lots og shooting stars, a good companion and also great foodturchia-0741 and then …. one morning a beautiful lady on a small boat was kneading and baking a kind of flatbread stuffed with cheese and parsley, what more could we want!?

Happy Birthday Filippo and Lavinia !!

I was in Milan few days ago to celebrate thirty years of my son Filippo and his wife Lavinia;
yes, they were born on the same day: March 19th , at the same hospital with an interval of just one hour; I don’t know what is your opinion about karma but…!
There was a nice party with so many of their friends at the restaurant “Bianca” http://www.spaziobianca.it/;
the atmosphere was warm and sparkling, tasty food, fancy présentation, perfect wine, a beautiful evening!
I admit that I love my children Filippo and Raffaele, and I feel very proud of them, I know that it sounds like a clichè, but…cuore di mamma italiana!

Cambodia and Myanmar ….a wonderful journey!

I have just returned home and the impressions are very strong. When we get in touch with countries so different from ours, we realize immediately that what for us is obvious: water, electricity, food … for others it is a mirage. It is difficult to understand different cultures and I do not pretend to do it, I look at them with respect. One suggestion: enjoy a meal at “Friends” the restaurant in Phnom Penh and buy gifts in their shops, so you will support very important projects involving the marginalized children.
